Thermoplastics Tube Bending and Welding

thermoplastics tube02

Axenics has many proprietary techniques for the fabrication of plastic and plastic tube bending. They include welding, fusion and joining of polypropylene, PVDF and PFA.

Most notable is our ability to bend fluoropolymer tubing which holds many advantages. Normally this material is cut to length and joined to fittings at the ends and the flexible tubing rests in its natural shape to avoid kinking. Bending the tubing to a smaller radius significantly reduces its overall length. The result is less media in the overall assembly, it's neater and cleaner and reduces the overall size of the assembly.

Because Axenics can perform fluoropolymer tube bending into precise shapes, we can form tubing into the same kinds of shapes in which stainless steel tubing is formed. This means engineers can draw schematics and the plastic tubing will conform to the precise shapes in the schematic.

In addition to being more cost effective, components take up much less space, they're easier to install, increase access and make troubleshooting easier. They also allow for offsite pre assembly into kits that can be easily installed on site. In fact, Axenics builds many client specified packages for installations in medical OEM companies, semiconductor manufacturers and other OEM manufacturing companies.

Our dedicated plastics specialists have also developed proprietary methods for joining plastic tubing. Most notable is our ability to weld tubing within 3/8-inch of a fitting or elbow, thus significantly reducing overall tubing length which, in turn, reduces the overall footprint of a device or component.
